We are studying the Pomo Indians. Pomo Indians ate acorns, fish, elk, water fowl, roots, berries, and small game. They used spears to catch fish and to kill deer, elk, water fowl, and small game. The Pomo Indians were the best weavers out of all the tribes in California. Usually the Pomo women wove the baskets. The Pomo Indians made several different types of houses, depending on where the group lived. Several families shared a house. Each family had a place inside for a fireplace and an entrance door. The Pomo Tribe called their dances He and Ke, meaning sing. There were seven groups of the Pomo Indians. Each group spoke a different dialect, but lived in the same way.
