Hours of Operation
  • The media center is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to approximately 3:35 p.m.
  • All 1-5 classes come to media once a week.
  • Students in grades 1-3 may visit during recesses 10:35-10:50 a.m and 1:40-1:55 p.m.
  • Students in grades 4-5 may visit during recesses when a class is not in the media center
  • Students may also visit the last 15 miniutes of lunch if media specialist is present
What is the Media Center anyway?
  • We have 12 computer stations equipped with CD-Rom Encyclopedia, Internet Access and other software for student use
  • We have an extensive reference collection
  • Teachers may borrow videos, cd-roms, and other media for classroom use
  • Students get to experience storytelling,readers theatre, learning the dewey decimal system, using the online catalog, using reference materials and puppetry
  • Grades 3,4 and 5 learn research and computer skills
  • Grades 1 and 2 have a weekly lesson and check out 1 book per week
  • Grades 3,4,5 have a weekly lesson and check out 2 books per week
  • Books must be returned before new books can be checked out
  • Parents are responsible for the replacement cost for lost or damaged books
  • Parents will receive a notice via mail when books are 4 weeks overdue
  • Outreach and services are also provided for site Adult ESL classes and Kidango Preschool program
  • Parents may also come in to borrow additional materials before and after school
