THE PERFECT TIME:
TO BUILD A FAN CLUB

Back in that steamy summer of 1995, while Fer sat at his computer typing that first e-mail, many
things were taking place behind the scenes that would trigger a Robotech revival unlike any other.
First and foremost was the announcement of RoboCon 10, the first convention dedicated entirely to
Robotech in almost 10 years. Held in the Grande Hotel just across from Disney Land in California,
the convention featured almost the entire cast and production staff, including many of the people
involved in then current Robotech projects. Such as Jason and John Waltrip from Academy comics of
Robotech II: The Sentinels fame, James Luceno and Brian Daley, the two authers who wrote
the Robotech novels under the pen name Jack McKinney. The creator of Robotech as we know it Carl Macek.
And of course Ulpio Minucci, the person responsible for that timeless soundtrack to Robotech.
1995 also saw the efforts of Gametek to produce Robotech: Crystal Dreams for the Nintendo
(Ultra) 64. Manga Entertainment emerged on the Anime scene about that time and unleashed Macross Plus.
The comics were thriving under Academy and their talented teams of artists, well most of them were
talented. At least the books had a good story and God forbid a plot, and The Robotech Perfect
Soundtrack Album was looming on the horizon. There was never a more perfect time to come along and
build fan club for Robotech, and that's just what we did.
